Got an illustration from my very talented friend, Andrea Wan.
Thank you. I LOVE IT!

The Coquitlam Reservior
Last year, I did a semester project on waters conservation.
Went on a tour today as part of the continuous study/research.
This is a 4 hour tour that began at 8am, Coquitlam Town Centre Park.

it is shocking that a little teaspoon of slit could bring
a jug of water to a "chocolate milk consistency"

A Poem
…
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Olafur Eliasson
Image: Kunstmuseum website
In the work of Danish Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson,
the sun can rise inside a museum and rainbows can appear indoors.
— Take Your Time: Olafur Eliasson
Got a chance to see a very small portion of Olafur Eliasson's work at Museum für Gegenwartskunst. I was really excited when I found his online exhibition. The website is well designed and the photographs are amazing. Not sure if I would get his work just by looking at them—the descriptions helped a lot. I am not a huge fan of contemporary arts, as I do not know how to appreciate them fully, but his works sure caught my eye.
Very memorable. Very clever.

Ceal Floyer
Another notable piece shown at the Above the Fold & Collection Selection exhibition. This installation is specifically made for this exhibition. An image of a hand holding a pen is projected onto the floor (hand) and column (pen). "This gesture of measurement, of proportional and perspectiveal determination of objects in the room, activates the relationships of size and […] diverts attention from the actual projection to the sheer presence of the surrounding space, to a point outside the picture."

Rediscovering
A really really nice map i picked up at Interlaken, Switzerland.
A stack was just laying there in this internet place, underneath some broken glass.
What a waste.
Not only the illustration was beautiful,
so was the paper stock itself— rough in texture, flimsy but just strong enough.
i took two of those with me, being very careful with them,
because there's something very precious about them.
One I mailed home.
The other, I wrapped around a special book of mine,
called Designerly Ways of Knowing by Nigel Cross.
I arrived home in Vancouver, and found this map of mine i've had for a year.
A National Geographic map i found in a thrift store.
The map just look too familiar to that one i've picked up during my backpacking trip.
Soon I realized they are both by a famous panoramic artist by the name of Heinrich Caesar Berann (1915-1999).
Another something I picked up along the way on my trip.
Loved the design of it. Very clean, clear and inviting.
It made me realize pink is not too overused, still.
Camille is a great inspiration.
Her passion to her music shines.
Would love to see her live.

Hello Beautiful Stranger
x
Photos taken in Basel City during a walk one evening.
I enjoy walking alone as a tourist, seeing new old things.
